5 Ways To Use Raw Camu Camu Powder

Cam Camu powder

What is Camu Camu?

Camu Camu is a berry from the rainforests of Peru. It’s about the size of a grape but don’t let that fool you, it provides 50 times more Vitamin C than an orange. It's great for:

  • A healthy immune system
  • Healthy eyes, gums and skin
  • Energy levels

How to use Camu Camu everyday?

Unless you can go foraging for berries in the Peruvian rainforest, the best way to consume Camu is in the raw powder form. Due to its potent properties it has a rather strong taste and a very bitter flavour. So here are our recommendations on how to incorporate Camu goodness in your everyday lives:

1. Smoothies and Juices

Mix it in your smoothie/juice. Not a green smoothie, more fruity e.g. pineapple, banana, mango, strawberries. This balances the bitterness.

Rosehip Smoothie

2. Porridge

Mix it into your oats with your favourite fruits and nuts!

3. Yogurt

Tastes amazing with coconut yogurt and fresh berries.

4. Tea

Mix a level teaspoon with your favourite fruity herbal tea. NOTE: Don’t use boiling hot water!

5. Facemask

Mix 1 teaspoon of raw Camu powder with 1 desert spoon of raw honey and 1 teaspoon of yoghurt. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off. Voila - beautiful skin!

Hi Diana,

On average we recommend about 1/2 a teaspoon of Camu Camu powder daily, however it’s always best to just follow the serving instructions on the back of the packet.

Have a great week!

How much powder do you use daily?

October 20, 2014

Hi there – thanks for this great information and I love the tip about mixing it with honey. I do the same sort of thing when I make certain types of green tea (I like the benefits of green tea, not the taste). I am using the camu to treat my gums, an excess of dental work this past year has left my gums needing some real love and attention. I am just wondering what some others are using the camu for?

Dear all,
Hereby a little trick to swallow the camu camu powder, since I struggled with it. I initially mixed it with a bit of water and then swallowed 3 times with my nose closed, but I had to gag each time.
Now I add an equal amount of honey to it, even a bit more. I stir it in a glass until the paste is fully mixed. Then I add 2 times the amount of camu, as water. I mix again and then I drink it. I now do not have to close my nose and afterwards, I do not have to gag, and the taste on the tongue dissapears fast.
Hope this helps!
